“The Gospel is not there for us to aggrandize ourselves. The Gospel is to aggrandize Christ and the mercy of God. It holds out to men eternal gifts that are not gifts of our own manufacture.” — Martin Luther on Galatians 5:25 🟠
OUR VISION
We envision a community from all nations and with all abilities discover, experience, and share the hope of the Gospel.
OUR MISSION
We exist to embrace and embody the hope of the Gospel, together.
“…our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the Physician of our eternal health; and that to this end He took the weakness of our nature, that our weakness might not last forever. For He assumed a mortal body, wherein to kill death.” — Augustine on Matthew 20:30 🟠
OUR HOPE
We often equate “hope” with “wishful thinking,” hoping for a better job, admission to our top school, or a clear diagnosis. But hope in and from the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ, is quite different:
The Gospel doesn’t promise a prosperous kind of condition. Instead, it is the means of experiencing the person of Jesus Christ in our everyday lives. For example, if we were lost in the woods and didn’t know how to get out, it would be of some “hope” to find a backpack full of tools to help you survive—it is an altogether better and bigger kind of “hope” for an expert of the wild to carry that backpack, teach you how to use those tools, and provide for your every need as He leads you out of wilderness and back home.
In the same way, the Gospel is the Good News that Jesus comes alongside of us as our ultimate hope: He knows the way home, He deeply cares for my every need, and yet He is such a wise and good Leader and Lord, He teaches us and strengthens us on our journey so that we grow to be experts of survival like Him—so much so that He even equips us to help others who are lost in the wild as well. The hope of the Gospel isn’t just about getting out of discomfort or quickly getting home; the hope of the Gospel is about being found by Jesus, experiencing and sharing a life that is led and loved by Him.
This is what we are all about at Hope Community Church: we envision a community from all nations and with all abilities discover, experience, and share the hope of the Gospel—and we are convinced the best way to see this vision become a reality is by embracing and embodying the hope of the Gospel together. 🟠
“Ah, soul! if thou shouldst judge thyself to be as one dead, if thy last hope should expire, if there should seem now to be nothing before thee but a fearful looking for of judgment and of fiery indignation, it is then that Jesus will interpose.” — Charles Haddon Spurgeon on Matthew 17:17 🟠

“But ‘the foundation of the Lord abideth sure’. God knoweth that ye are His own. Wrestle, fight, go forward, watch, fear, believe, pray; and then ye have the infallible symptoms of one of the elect of Christ within you.” — Samuel Rutherford 🟠
OUR BELIEFS
Currently, our family of faith has entered into a new season of discernment and preparation, prayerfully seeking the Lord’s guidance as we consider where to find theological and doctrinal fellowship.
In the meantime, however, the teaching, preaching, and leadership of the church subscribes to the following:
OUR FRIENDS
We consider it a privilege and joy to partner with the following networks, non-profits, and ministries for the glory of God and the good of the City:
“The Gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.” — Tim Keller, The Meaning of Marriage 🟠
